Biotium One-Step Lumitein™ UV Protein Gel Stain, 1X
One-Step Lumitein™ UV Protein Gel Stain is a ready-to-use luminescent protein gel stain. Gels stained with One-Step Lumitein™ UV can be visualized with a variety of different UV-based fluorescence imaging systems. Convenient staining protocol, requiring only a single 5-30 minute staining step without fixation, destaining is optional. The stain is sensitive, detecting ~ 1-10 ng of protein per band (staining intensity can vary between proteins) and comparable to the Oriole™ Fluorescent Gel Stain(Bio-Rad). Unlike other fluorescent gel stains like Oriole™ or Flamingo™, One-Step Lumitein™ UV is an aqueous-based solution that does not does not contain hazardous methanol or acetic acid for safer handling and ease of disposal, does not cause gel shrinkage, and is significantly lower in cost. Staining is fully compatible with mass spectrometry and Edman-based sequencing.
Biotium NucSpot 470, 1000X in DMSO
NucSpot 470 is a cell membrane-impermeant green fluorescent DNA stain. It is virtually non-fluorescent in the absence of DNA, but fluoresces bright green upon DNA binding. While other green nucleic acid stains like TOTO, TO-PRO, or SYTOX dyes stain both the nucleus and cytoplasm, NucSpot 470 specifically stains the nucleus of fixed and permeabilized cells. It also can be used to selectively stain dead cells in living cultures. NucSpot 470 has an excitation/emission of 460/546 nm and can be imaged using standard settings for FITC. Properties: Ex/Em= 460/546 nm (with DNA); Store at 4°C and protect from light.
Biotium DMAO, 2mM in DMSO
DMAO is a membrane-permeable DNA dye, excellent for staining live bacteria. Stained cells can be detected by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry. DMAO preferentially binds to dsDNA with green fluorescence (Ex/Em, DNA-bound = 496/528 nm). The dye is suitable for both gram-positive and gram-negative strains. Unlike the SYBR dyes, DMAO is extremely stable and can be routinely handled and stored at room temperature without degradation. Properties: Liquid; Store at room temperature or below, protect from light; Ex/Em = 496/528 nm (with DNA).
Biotium Hoechst 33342, 10mg/mL in H2O
Hoechst dyes are cell membrane-permeant, minor groove-binding blue fluorescent DNA stains. These dyes are widely used in cell cycle and apoptosis studies as nuclear counterstains. Hoechst 33528 is slightly more water soluble than Hoechst 33342. The dyes can be used to stain live or fixed cells in buffer or medium at 1 ug/mL, with no wash step required. This unique Coomassie Blue based formulation features a special dye that is absorbed by protein bands instead of the gel matrix. This eliminates the need for destaining and offers enhanced sensitivity and sharper resolution of bands. Protein bands can be detected within 10 minutes. Maximum intensification may require incubation up to 40 minutes. Offers greater convenience and sensitivity than conventional stains. Compatible with silver staining. Rapid Coomassie stain uses a simple two-step procedure. Stain is designed to detect as little as 7.9ng of protein within one hour of electrophoresis. Supplied as 20X concentrated solution.
